Hunt PTO School Update

Welcome back Hunt families!  The Hunt PTO (parent/teacher organization) strives to put out a weekly blog post to help keep you informed about what's happening at school and in our school community.  While there is a monthly newsletter produced by Hunt with all kinds of information and updates from the different teams, this weekly communication will help you get important events on your radar as well as inform you about items of interest your children might not share... (sadly, many of our children clam up in middle school...)

Families are encouraged to help provide content to this blog.  Send us info about parenting classes, community opportunities for students/parents (like plays, fun runs...), ideas for events or fundraisers - whatever you think other Hunt families might want to hear about.

If you have any things that you would like to be included in a blog post- please send your information to:  huntmiddleschool@gmail.com .  Please write “FOR BLOG” in the subject line.  The blog is usually published on Sunday, so submissions need to be in by first thing Sunday morning to be included.

PTO Meeting - Thursday, September 10th - 6:30pm - Hunt Library Parent involvement in school doesn't end in the middle school!  Attending PTO meetings and/or participating in PTO sponsored events is one way that you can show your child that school is important.  There is always good company and sometimes yummy snacks! - Hope to see you there!

Thank You to the weeding fairies that donated their time to get the front flower gardens weeded and looking fab.  For those of you new to Hunt, the flower gardens and stone circle are a relatively new addition to Hunt.  Within the last 3 years, the gardens and stone circle were constructed and an electronic sign was put in on North Avenue.  These PTO sponsored projects were realized because of families with vision, some awesome fundraising and lots of hard labor.

What ideas do you have to improve Hunt school inside or out???? (email us at huntmiddleschool@gmail.com or come to the monthly PTO meetings)

CLASSIFIEDS:

  • Seeking mulch to help spruce up the front gardens - do you have some half used bags hanging around that you don't want to store for the winter?  Brown or natural color only so it blends with the existing mulch! Email us at Huntmiddleschool@gmail.com and let us know you are bringing it by (bags can go near the stone circle)

  • Seeking rollerskates/rollerblades.  The Hunt theatre program will be putting on the production, Starlight Express this Spring.  Many kids will be on skates for this production.  If you have some skates gathering dust in your garage we would love to take them off your hands.  Skates should be in decent condition - no mold/mildew (cobwebs ok)  Sizes 6+ are most useful.  Email Huntmiddleschool@gmail.com

****We will take your classifieds too!!!  Looking for some school supplies, sports equipment, books or other school related items that we can help with?
