Please consider making a donation to the Red Cross
to support Nepali families affected by the earthquake

Earthquake in Nepal
April 27, 2015

There are over 200 Nepali-speaking students and their families in the BSD community. These families are both Bhutanese Nepali and Nepali.
Members of the Bhutanese Nepali community are ethnic Nepali who lived for generations in Bhutan until they were forced out in the early 1990's. Bhutanese Nepali who left Bhutan spent nearly 20 years in refugee camps in Nepal.

Many of the Nepali-speaking students in our schools were born in Nepal. The students and their families will be concerned about friends and family members still in Nepal.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Red Cross in support of those affected by the earthquake, you can use the following link:

This year, we will surprise the Hunt faculty and staff with goodies on Wednesday, May 13th.  Thank you to the families that have already volunteered their time and food donations!

Can you help?  We already have someone to set up and someone to clean up, now we need the goodies!!!

We Still Need: (items listed are examples - feel free to be creative!)
  • Savory bites - hummous/pita bread
  • Sweets - cupcakes, brownies, cookies
  • Cut fruit - Strawberries, pineapple, watermelon - any or all

Food will be set up towards the end of the school day (around 2pm) -  foods can be dropped off in the am in the office (please label for Staff Appreciation) or at 2pm dismissal  - again, foods to the office.  If your item is gluten free, it should be labeled.

Please RSVP to the email below and I will get back to you so I can be sure we have a  variety of things.  I will remind everyone a few days before the event.

Thanks for all your help!!!  Kate B.  akbelluche@aol.com

Next PTO meeting:  Thursday, May 21st

Happening at the May 27th chorus concert!

Plant Sale Update: Unfortunately, Hunt's popular plant sale/yard sale will not happen this
year as it has in previous years. There will however be a smaller plant sale . Every year I
have between 100-200 pots that I donate for this sale from thinning my own garden- it would be a shame to throw them all away this year.

The plan is to do the sale in combination with the chorus concert on May 27.
I would love to get any help you can provide in digging/preparing plants for sale. If you too
have plants in your garden that you are digging up and don't know what to do with please
consider donating them to this sale.

Also, if you have some 6-8 inch pots I would love to have them as well. All proceeds will go
to Hunt PTO which means that it will benefit your child. Please contact me with any
questions or to come dig plants. I can pick up pot donations from you or
you can drop off at Hunt. Thanks! Bella Nadworny,
